| Senior Pastor: Dr. Jim Dixon pastor@fbc-catalina.org Dr. Dixon has been senior pastor of First Baptist Church of Catalina since December 2002. He is a graduate of Trinity College in Florida, University of Tennessee and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. He earned a Doctorate of Ministry in 1968 from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Dr. Dixon is an accomplished author and has published his book "Expository Thoughts on Genesis". The book is available at the Church. |
Jim belonged to a mixed quartet for ten years performing throughout the Midwest. A tour of South American mission fields was the highlight of his travels. Following the dissolution of the quartet, Jim moved into a personal singing ministry involved in retreats, revivals and social gatherings. Five and a half years ago Jim felt God's call to lead the choir at FBCC. Each year he directs a Christmas and Easter Cantata and under his encouragement smaller vocal groups have emerged. |
| Minister of Youth: Joe Ventimiglia youth@fbc-catalina.org Prior to joining the staff at First Baptist Church of Catalina, as our Youth Minister, "Joe Vee" was on the staff of Evangelist at Saint John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Queens, NY,where he also headed up the youth group 'Under His Wings' from January 1993 through May 2003. While there, he was also an Elder and the acting Pastor for the last year and a half of his time at Saint John's. Joe is presently holding a contemporary worship service on Sunday afternoons at our youth outpost called The Salt Mine, at 2:30 pm, aimed at youth 12 to 18 years of age. |
children@fbc-catalina.org Karen has worked in the children's programs over the last several years. She has recently left her job as the church secretary to devote her energies to develop a vibrant all around program for children 6-12 years old. Karen has been a member of First Baptist Church of Catalina since 1988. She joined the staff in July 1999 as the Church Secretary. The Children's programs include Children of God on Sunday morning, God's Children on Wednesday evening, and Vacation Bible school in July. |

nursery@fbc-catalina.org Linda is a teacher at Casas Adobes Preschool. She has a love and concern for our young ones. Linda plans many activities to keep the children learning and active. We have nursery workers available during both services on Sunday morning. We have revamped our nursery area to better accommodate children from birth to 3 years old. |
